The format of the competition is international, restricted two-phase design competition.
Any number of participants can enter the competition. Based on the decision of the international expert jury, the contracting authority selects those who will be invited to submit competition proposals in the 1st phase of the competition. The request to participate requires proof of qualification requirements of individual team members and submission of portfolios of reference projects. Mandatory team members are a graphic designer, an architect or urban planner or a product designer or industrial designer, a UX designer and a project manager.
A maximum of 5 participants will be invited to the 1st phase of the Competition, their task will be to prepare a comprehensive assignment to create an overall concept of information and navigation system with a practical representation of typography, color and especially functional principles on various 3D outputs. The jury will evaluate the submitted solutions anonymously, the 3 most successful will be invited by the Contracting Authority to the 2nd phase of the Competition.
The Jury board
The Jury will consist of a dependent and independent part represented by 4 to 5 votes. The dependent Jury is composed of representatives of key stakeholders of this emerging unifying system, independent Jury consists of Czech and international experts of the field, namely Czech architect and urban designer Pavla Melková, an Austrian information designer Veronika Egger, a British-American design-planner Mike Rawlinson, a Czech graphic designer and typographer Radek Sidun and a British product designer Sam Gullam.
The competition was announced on 6 September 2021 through the Public Procurement Bulletin and the Official Journal of the European Union. From this day, the Competition conditions, including all annexes, are available on the electronic portal Tender Arena.
The complete application for participation must be submitted by 23 September 2021 by 6:00 am exclusively electronically in the electronic tool Tender Arena. To submit an application for participation and tenders, it is necessary to register in the tool. We would like to warn all those interested in participating in the competition that the tool operator reserves 3 working days to approve the registration.
The deadline for submitting bids of the invited participants for the 1st phase of the competition is set for 6 November 2021 by 12:00, bids for the 2nd phase of the competition will be submitted by 20 January 2022 12:00.
The competition will run until the end of this year, the results of the competition will be approved by the Prague City Council and their announcement is scheduled for February 2022.
